कहां गए मल्लाह

इन मल्लाहों की लोक-परंपराएं धीरे-धीरे लुप्त होती जा रही हैं। नदी तट पर मल्लाहों का रहन-सहन, उनके रीति-रिवाज, लोकगीत अब सुनाई व दिखाई नहीं देते हैं। पूर्णिया जिला का एक प्रखंड है। नाम है- श्रीनगर। इसके सिंघिया, संतनगर और चनका गांव में मछुआरों की कई बस्तियां हैं। अररिया जिले के औराही हिंगना इलाके में भी मछुआरों की स्थिति अच्छी नहीं है। यह इलाका फणीश्वर नाथ रेणु का है। उन्होंने अपने लेखन के जरिए इलाके की बोली-बानी और परंपराओं से पाठकों का खूब परिचय कराया है। देशी नस्ल की मछिलयों को भी उन्होंने अपनी कथाओं में जगह दी है।
